Plots and plans are coming together, donations keep coming in and the excitement is building! LOTS of items for sale! Lots of FUN!
THANK YOU to those who have already donated and to those who have bags ready to deliver! The container is filling nicely with items that will soon be found on tables all over the campus. The upper school girls are working on putting together some new games as well as the beloved favourites. The Dutch Auction has some wonderful items donated for it already (and is looking for a few more) and all over the Columba family community, cooking, baking and jam makings are in the works to provide tasty treats for all.
DON'T FORGET!! Friday, March 27th will be a Mufti Day for Tombola prizes (please bring an item that can be used as a prize in lieu of a gold coin).
There are still a few stalls that need some helpers and we would still love to take those donations of clothing, household items, toys, Dutch Auction, Tombola prizes and money off your hands!
I thought I’d take this opportunity to let you know about some of the great things that will be happening at the Fair this year. Grab a cup of coffee or tea and see what we’ve planned for you this year. It’s going to be a fabulous Fair (please pray for “no rain”)!
ENTERTAINMENT
Opening Celebration
Free “mini raffle” tickets will be given out to each person from 11:10—11:25 at the gates and entrance by the gym by our wonderful prefects. The famous McGlashan Pipe Band will play and all will gather in front of Bishopscourt where,at 11:25, we will draw the lucky mini raffle ticket holder who will win a new black ipod 8 gb Nano (must be present to win!). At 11:30 on the dot, the sound of the air horn signal for the stalls and hall doors will to open and be ready for business and fun!
Magician
Jonathan Usher to perform at Noon, 12:30, 1:00, 1:30 in the Library. Gold coin donation per person entry (over the age of two). Come be AMAZED and mystified as he performs unusual feats of magic!
Easter Bunny (free) NEW The Easter Bunny will be wandering the campus with treats for the children.
FOODS Come HUNGRY!!

Experience fabulous tastes from all over the world. Curries, Baklava, sushi and more!
Coffee Shop
The Bishopscourt dining hall is a relaxing place to take a break from Fair festivities and have a cup of coffee or tea and try some yummy salads, sandwiches and desserts.
Candy Floss, Hot Chips and Popcorn
The Year 12 girls, led by Mrs. West, are whipping up some treats for you in the tent behind the boarding house\.
BBQ
The Board of Governors and Board of Trustees have their grills fired up and tongs in hand over by the tennis court, ready to prepare a juicy, sizzling sausage—just for you! And, this year they will have the added treat —small poddles of Gourmet Ice Cream!
Fresh Fruit Ice Cream
This table will be creating sweet, cool delights!

Sweets Stall
The sweet stall will offer all kinds of delicious, mouth watering sweets ranging from fabulous fudges and toffee apples to the ever popular sherbet and coconut ice. Luscious fudge and bagged lollies kindly donated by "Dairy in the Dip" will be on offer. The more sweets donated the better the stall will be, so please check out the new improved recipe sheet and give sweet making a try. Also available at the sweet stall will be soft drinks and bottled water. All donations will be greatly appreciated.
Gourmet Foods Market - NEW
Come do some shopping at our very own “Farmers’ Market”! Fresh veggies and fruits will be available, along with gourmet specialities, fresh breads, homemade jams, jellies, chutneys and sauces.
Cakes Stall
Mouth watering cakes and delicious baked treats await you at this
popular stall. Pick up a cake (or two), some muffins and biscuits for
your family and friends. And be sure to stop by to see all the glorious
cakes on display for the “Cake Contest” and help vote for the best
one. (See the enclosed flyer for more information about the contest).
Pikelets
The ever popular and always delicious stall would be happy to make you
a fresh, hot, sweet treat!

Junior School Herb-Mania!
This year, the Junior School students are doing something new. As part of several of their curriculums, the students have been growing herbs and painting pots to create artistic and edible offerings for sale.

Raffles
Along with our raffle cards that you received in the mail with all of their wonderful prizes, there will be three Easter Baskets available for drawing the day of the Fair. Fabulous prizes can be found in the basket for children, the one for teens and the delectable Gourmet” basket. Stop by and purchase a ticket for your chance to win! Drawings will be held at 1:00 pm.
The Easter Stall
Filled with toys, candies and gifts to celebrate the upcoming holiday.
Some items are unique and can ONLY be found in this stall and no where
else in the city! There will also be a special Easter game to play
there. Plan on stopping by to fill your own baskets!

Clothing
The Clothing stall at the Columba College Fair is attended by hundreds
of people each year looking for a bargain. We have always been
fortunate enough to have a fantastic selection of well loved second
hand clothing that has made this stall so successful year after year. So, please go through those drawers and pass on any clothes that no
longer fit your growing kids and those that "you know" you're just not
going to fit anymore no matter how much you run!!
Elegant Junk
There are are treasures to be found in this stall which is packed
chocker-block with furniture, household items and surprises! There are
also about 12 school two-seater tables that will be available for sale.
We will have one on “display” and the rest can be picked up after the
Fair. Come see what you can find!
Toys
Always a hit with the kids! Tables will be piled with fun and
games—literally! Put this stall on your list of “must dos” to resupply
your toys, puzzles and games for those long , cold wintery weekends
ahead.

The Old Girls’ Plant Stall
This is the place to go to fill up your fall garden. Lots of wonderful
plants and flowers are waiting for your “green thumbs”!
The Meat Stall
Stop by this popular place to get the best quality meat at a good
price! Des and Stuart can help you with your choice of chicken, beef,
lamb or—new this year— venison! They will happily “keep” your purchase
for you until you are ready to leave.

The Book Stall can now be found in its’ new, improved “home”—the Keith
Skinner sitting rooms. Come browse through the wonderful selection and
find some new volumes to fill your shelves!
Upscale Resale
The Columba Old Girls have been busy finding pre-loved label led clothing and accessories for this popular “boutique”— a treasure trove of fabulous things!
